Xu LIN works as a Partner and the head of the Committee of Trademark at Jin Mao Law Firm. She has over 20 years of work experience in the field of IP. Her work has involved designing IP strategies, handling trademark prosecutions, enforcement, investigation, litigation, and due diligence, as well as drafting and reviewing IP related contracts. The trademark infringement cases she handled have been listed as a model case on punitive damage by Supreme Court, and a model case for strengthening IP protection (2020) in Zhejiang Province and a model IP protection case (2022) in Jiangxi courts.
Xu had worked at the US Consulate General in Shanghai as an IP Specialist for many years. After that Xu worked at Taylor Wessing and several other renowned law firms as Associate, Senior Associate and Partner. Xu held the elected position of Vice Chair for the EU Chamber of Commerce‘s IP Working Group (Shanghai) in the years 2012, 2013 and 2014 and the elected position of Chair for the National EU Chamber of Commerce‘s IP Working Group in 2019. She has been appointed as a mediator on IP civil disputes by Shanghai High Court and Shanghai IP Administration since 2021.
Xu studied Law at the East China University of Political Science and Law, where she completed her LL.B degree in 1998. In 2006, she completed an LL.M program co-organized by the WIPO and the University of Turin (Italy). She has been invited to be guest researcher at Fudan IP Research Center and give speeches on many events and lectures to students at Fudan University, Shanghai International Studies University, Shanghai University of International Business and Economics, and the Second Military Medical University (Shanghai).
